DIRECTOR OF SERVICES – ADULT MHA/CRISIS RESPONSE/BEAR CLAN
FULL TIME POSITION
RESPONSIBLE TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Services – Adult Mental Health and Addictions, Crisis Response and the Bear Clan Program shall, in conjunction with staff, deliver culturally safe, trauma informed, clinical case management mental health and addictions services to thirteen (13) First Nation communities in the Treaty #3 territory. This position includes administering all aspects of the Adult MHA and Crisis Response Programs within the policy guidelines of Kenora Chiefs Advisory and the mandate outlined by the Ministry of Health – Community Programs and Health Canada. The Director will work within the management team at Kenora Chiefs Advisory to help deliver and improve the services offered to the relevant communities.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Staffing
➢ Recruitment and selection of staff as needed;
➢ Monitoring and evaluation of staff performance;
➢ Providing the opportunity for continuing staff training;
➢ Providing some of the staff training in areas of clinical need;
➢ Staff assignment and distribution to best meet the needs of all the communities.

Community Liaison
➢ Develop and maintain an awareness of the needs of each community;
➢ Give the best effort to meet those needs;
➢ Develop positive and good working relationships with community leaders, relevant professionals and parallel agencies to facilitate complete service to our clients.

Clinical Services (direct and indirect)
➢ Ensure bi-cultural best practices are delivered by staff;
➢ Monitor service quality to clients and make changes as necessary;
➢ Provide clinical supervision to staff;
➢ In difficult cases, see clients and provide direction to staff

Monitoring
➢ Ensuring staff input data on a consistent basis to ensure on-going quality service to clients and for accurate reporting to Ministry and communities;

Budget
➢ Monitor the expenditure of the team in conjunction with the MHA Director and Finance Manager

Qualifications:
➢ Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work;
➢ Experience in management
➢ Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, presentation and computer skills
➢ Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture and language

Additional Requirements:
➢ A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
➢ Understanding of Ojibway language is an asset
➢ Must provide criminal reference check.
