NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT
Temporary Full-Time – approximately six months
POSITION SUMMARY: The Huron Perth and Area Ontario Health Team (HP&A OHT) Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Program Development Consultant is responsible for developing an HP&A OHT proposal for an infection control program including: surveillance, outbreak management, education, consultation and leadership as well as providing guidance related to emergency preparedness, environmental concerns, construction, repairs and structural modifications. The Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Program Development Consultant will take guidance from an IPAC oversight group.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Regulated Health Care Professional in good standing with current registration with respective professional body
• Baccalaureate in related field preferred
• Current registration with the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred
• Completion of the Infection Prevention and Control Core Competencies course preferred
Experience:
• Minimum three years’ experience working in healthcare sector
• Infection Prevention and Control experience preferred
• Knowledge of the nature and processes of healthcare associated infections and outbreaks in a healthcare environment, as well as investigatory and medical surveillance procedures, documentation and standards
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, be self-motivated and self-directed
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of healthcare professionals
• Previous experience with program development and coordination an asset
• Project management experience an asset
Abilities:
• Computer literate and familiar with multiple software programs
• Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and present relevant information and develop recommendations
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstration of collaboration with healthcare sector partners
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in decision making and problem solving
• Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle
