POSITION SUMMARY:
The Interhospital Laboratory Partnership (IHLP) Microbiology service is a regional testing laboratory based at Stratford General Hospital since consolidation of five microbiology laboratories into one in 2003. The Technical Manager, Microbiology is responsible for the daily operations and activities of this laboratory. The remainder of the Manager’s time is spent providing leadership in the management and provision of quality laboratory testing within HPHA and the IHLP. Ongoing liaison with the entire IHLP is key function of this role. Please refer to the IHLP website for more information www.IHLP.ca

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- A general medical laboratory technology background (ie. CSLMS) is an asset
- The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor of Science or higher degree in microbiology or health sciences
- Formal training in healthcare management is preferred
Experience/ Knowledge
- 5-10 years of progressive clinical laboratory professional/technologic experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory is required
- 3-5 years of progressive management experience in a hospital/clinical laboratory setting is preferred
- Member in good standing of a professional association(s) such as the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and/or Canadian Association for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (CACMID) is preferred
